What a great story! I was so jealous of you, Fanny! I can still remember where I was when you called to tell me about it. Mr. Slater, you also made my dreams come true when you got us on stage (ON STAGE!!!!) at an 'N Sync concert. I can say with absolute certainty that at the time that experience was the most emotionally relevant experience of my life. Also important was how cool I felt the next day when I was the center of attention at a brand new school. All of it continues to be a great lesson in generosity. Thank you Mr. Slater, and love to all of the Slaters!

-Sarah

i sure was lucky to have a dad who traveled around the country with me following the path of a pop star. i forgot that you had gone to the bathroom when justin walked by with his duffel bag! what a great story. it wasn't britney that made me pick up the guitar in the first place--that was michael j fox--but seeing her blow up as a star through music definitely drove my love of music. i'm not gonna lie...the root of my fascination with her: i wanted to be her. although looking back, parts of it are slightly embarassing, i guess when you're in your awkward phase and don't know who you are, you see someone who is just so darn...well..."cool" (the best word i can use to describe it), and you want to be in her shoes. maybe someday she'll loan me a pair of shoes. thank you for sharing this story :)
