I got to the Quad a bit later than you, but I had a similar fondness for beer. It took me a decade and meeting my beautiful wife from Belgium to come to a full appreciation. Butcher 2nd, in “72”. Came in from Appalachia on the “follow my brother to Penn” plane and landed in Nirvana. Very similar landscape to my undergraduate life; growing up, great and lasting friendships, intectual stimulation, unfettered ability to explore, cultural immersion and a college degree, what more could anyone ask for?
